This document outlines the procedure to edit a patient’s e-booking permission, messaging permission, and file attachment permission.  Please note:  These personal settings override the provider’s general e-booking setting, the provider’s general messaging setting, and the site or clinic’s patient file attachment permission.  A use-case example would be to allow a specific patient to book with a specialist that works within your clinic, and currently they can only book with their family physician. 



1.  In the Portal:

a)Click on the Search icon.

b)Type in the patient's last name, EMR ID, or email address.

c)Click on the Profile button as indicated.


2.  Click on the Permission tab to continue.


3.  For E-booking permission:

a)Change master permission to Disable only if this patient cannot explicitly book online.

b)Click on Edit button to the provider in question.

c)Click on the drop down menu to toggle between Allow or Prohibit, depending on your scenario.  The default permission derives from Workgroup Settings and individual Provider Settings.


4.  For Messaging permssion:

a)Change master permission to Disable only if this patient cannot explicitly send messages online.

b)Click on Edit button to the provider in question.

c)For messaging, click on the drop down menu to toggle between Allow or Prohibit.  The default permission derives from Workgroup Settings and individual Provider Settings.

d)For file attachment, click on the drop down menu to toggle between Allow or Prohibit.

e)Click the check mark to save.
